2013 FALL CLEAN-UP
Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - residences on the Gateway Mall side of the railway tracks Wednesday, October 23, 2013- residences on the Sussex Place side.
This is an opportunity for all residential properties to be cleaned up by the owner/tenant. Residents are requested not to place their garbage out for this clean up until the weekend prior to clean up days.
ALL ITEMS (EXCEPT HAZARDOUS WASTES & CONSTRUCTION WASTE) including fridges, stoves, furniture, lumber, metals, branches, etc. will be accepted on these days only. Refrigerators do not need the Freon removed before pick-up.
Vehicles are also acceptable but you must call Peter Blakeney, Works Officer, at 434-0712 for the removal of old vehicles as paperwork is involved, although there is no cost to the owners.
Some items which are considered hazardous waste and will not be picked up are computer monitors, propane tanks, all batteries, any solvents or cleaning products, motor oil & filters and paint. Please note that the next Free Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off is May 25th, 2013 from 10 AM – 3 PM, at the transfer station on McLeod Drive
THE TOWN WILL NOT ACCEPT CONSTRUCTION WASTE. This must be disposed of by the homeowner or contractor at the Transfer Station.
Please remember to always separate the garbage so recyclable materials can be easily identified. Any packaged materials can not be more than 50 pounds per package, bag or bundle. Remember, any bundled material must be bundled with string or rope – materials bundled with wire or any metal product are not acceptable.
Fall Clean-up is done in conjunction with the regular garbage pick-up by Devine Sanitation. For any information call the Town Office at 432-4540.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY ITEMS FOR CLEAN-UP DAY OUT UNTIL THE WEEKEND BEFORE. ANY TIME BEFORE THIS MAKES YOUR PROPERTY UNSIGHTLY, UNSANITARY AND UNSAFE. THE TOWN REQUESTS YOUR CO-OPERATION IN THIS MATTER.
